China Southern Airlines Company Limited will open a cargo route from Shanghai Pudong to Osaka, Japan starting from August 24, expanding its international routes to Asia besides Europe and America, according to a China Southern New Product Introduction (NPI) Meeting held in Shanghai.
China Southern will offer 500 tons or so of transport capacity per week after the launch of the new route, which bridges the air logistics for trade between China and Japan.
Moreover, the route can provide customers with various freight products and value-added services. It is noteworthy that China Southern had held an introduction meeting in Osaka, Japan before, which received much attention among local media.
Osaka is the second biggest city in Japan and the biggest city across Kansai region, which has been known as the economic, commercial and cultural centre in Japan. Taking advantage of various products and its sound economic foundation, many world-famous enterprises including Panasonic and Sanyo have grown and thrived from here; industries varied from household appliances, chemistry, fiber to steel converge here.
Currently, China Southern has opened 6 cargo routes from Shanghai, with its cargo network covering more than 200 destinations across Europe and North America. Particularly, the Shanghai-Osaka route will become China Southern's first Asian cargo service, leaving more choices for costumers with regard to cargo routes and products. Moreover, the route will play a strategic role in China Southern's construction of a cargo hub in Shanghai.
